The Group generally meets between 7pm-9pm every third Thursday of the Month at Leeds Civic Hall (the large white building opposite Millennium Square). At the Meetings we have various Guest Speakers and discuss Amnesty Campaigns and Business. You don’t have to be a member of the group or Amnesty to join us; you just need an interest in human rights and to show up for a warm welcome!

7pm to 9pm for the 'formal' meeting (And in the quickest pub we can get to afterwards for our 'informal' meeting for those interested!)
The 2010 Dates of the Amnesty International Leeds Group meetings are as follows:
We also have regular meetings for specific events and occasional one-offs. Please contact the Amnesty Leeds Group Secretary for current information and the latest meeting dates. If you are interested to find out what we do, and to tell us what you can do, please come along.
We have a sub-group who meet to specifically to write letters and respond to actions. Contact the secretary for current information and contact details.
We have a group of fundraisers who tend to meet up as and when it is required. They organise music, comedy and other fundraising events and gigs. We’ve had some really successful events, enjoyed by many over the last few years! We are always on the look out for new members, ideas and input into helping us organise events and make cash for the amazing work of Amnesty International.
At the end of 2005 we began the process of establishing a sub-group to organise campaigning around Refugee and Asylum issues. This sub-group has been involved in organising events such as sleep outs in support of destitute asylum seekers and writing to MPs.
A dormant sub-group is a sub-group which at present is not meeting on a regular basis.
We have a group of individuals who meet to organise events and campaign objectives around our “Stop Violence Against Women” Campaign.
As part of our on-going “Control Arms” campaign we occasionally meet to discuss specific events but at the moment there is not much action to do in this area. We have organised events and stalls in Leeds City Centre, occasionally working with OXFAM campaigners on this specific jointly supported campaign.
